A: No. Many operators will ask you to charter for a week, usually Saturday to Saturday, but with V-GO Yachting, we can do partial weeks for you. However The cost per day will be a bit more than 1/7th of the weekly rate but it's certainly possible to book a short charter.
Q:Can I choose which day of the week I begin and end my yacht charter?
A:Crewed yacht charters can start and end on any day of the week, subject to availability.
Q:When is the good period to book?
A:June and September are generally hot enough to get a nice tan without the harsh summer temperatures. For those who wish to swim at any time of day and night and for those who are out and out sun worshippers, we suggest July and August. May and October expose the serene beauty of nature and this is perhaps the best time as the coves and beaches are not crowded.
Q:Do I need insurance?
B: We are strongly advise all guests to consider Cancellation and Curtailment Insurance. You may also wish to consider Personal Accident or Medical Insurance plus Personal Effects Insurance, which is generally not included in the charter fee.
Q:Where can we sail and what routes are available?
A:Most routes are available. It is advisable to speak to an V-GO staff as they will be able to gives suggestions to what cruise route suits your group. Your itinerary will be based on your interests and requests. Your captain and crew have in-depth knowledge about the area whether at sea or ashore, however it as well depends on weather and wind conditions. If you need more information about your chosen charter location contact us and we will let you know what type of attractions that particular location features.
Q:Are meals provided on the boat?
A:When you make a booking, you can choose if you want to add your meals on board. Your menus will be created around your individual food preferences and professional chefs will be able to prepare food for most appetites, tastes and dietary needs with prior warning of your requirements.
If you decide you want to bring your own food onboard we'll take you shopping before you board the boat & you can buy your own supplies. Our chef / crew’s service and usage of all kitchen equipments are included.
Q:Am I allowed to bring my own drinks onboard?
A:Yes, you can bring your own drinks to the cruise. Alternatively, if you do not want to bring your own drinks we can stock the bar for you and sell all drinks at reasonable bar prices.
Q:How many crew members will be on crewed yacht charter?
A:There are usually three crew on each boat; the Captain, chef & crew. Depending on the size & conditions of your private cruise, there may be one less or extra crew.
Q:What do I need to bring onboard?
A:We recommend soft luggage as it is easier to store in your cabin. You may also like to bring a light day pack for optional excursions ashore. Swimming suits (it is a good idea to bring at least two as you spend most of the day in your swimming suits), T-shirts, shorts, some warmer clothes as well, especially for the cool spring and autumn nights; Mosquito repellent, plenty of efficient sun lotion, good sunglasses, a hat and some aloe Vera gel or something similar to soothe any sunburns and any specific prescription medicines that you may need.
Remember to bring any personal items such as passports and visas as well as medication or personal sport equipment. Softer luggage is ideal for fitting into cabin lockers and is generally more practical on a yacht.
Q:Do the boats have air-conditioning?
Some of our gulets/yatchs are equipped with air conditioning. You can check from our Fleet.
Q:Can your crew speak English?
A: Yes they can. However, knowledge of English among Turkish crew members varies. You may like to take a small traveler's dictionary along with you for the cruise. Besides being understood more easily, it is also a great way of picking up a few words of Turkish and a way to get into the Turkish culture a little more.
Q:Are there any activities during the cruise?
A:Yes, there are optional activities available during the cruise such as paragliding (in Oludeniz) and some water sports like kayaking or banana boat. Please ask your captain or crew in advance if you are interested. A few sets of snorkeling and fishing gear is provided for free on board. If snorkelling is one of your favorite pastimes, we suggest you pack your own set of gear, then you won't need to adjust the mask size every time you wish to explore the depths.
Q:Can I charge my camera and phone on the boat?
A:All cabins have normal power plugs with 12W or 24W power, this is enough power to charge your phone or camera sometimes (not laptops). At ports we have 220W when charging gulet batteries so you have the opportunity to charge your items when we are moored in harbour. Also most of our gulets/yatchs have generators that would allow charging 220W when it is turned on.
Q:Do I need to give any tips to the crew members?
A:It is customary to tip the crew at the end of the cruise. How much is left to the discretion of the passenger. The tip is normally given to the captain, who divides it under the crew members.
Q:What if I have to cancel my booking?
A:If you wish to cancel 45 days or more notice, you can get your money refunded, except for a 25 Euro per person which is non refundable administrative fee plus applicable hotel, cruise and air cancellation fees. If 44 days or less notice of cancellation, there will be no refunds of any kind.
