Yacht charter from Kas
Kas, meaning “eyebrow”, is an appropriate name as the harbour where it is situated is curved. Kas still retains a certain small-town charm, with narrow cobblestone streets, incredible coastal views, Ottoman style wood buildings with bright balconies house a selection of shops, bars, restaurants and coffee houses. Another part of its charm comes from Kas`s unhurried ambience. From the moment you step foot in Kas, time seems to slow. Whether you sip a cup of tea on the promenade, or window-shop as you wander through the narrow streets, you will feel at ease in Kas.
Kas used to be called Antiphellos and the ancient theatre is the last surviving monument from this period. There are also numerous Lycian tombs constructed into the face of the mountain and an unanticipated monumental sarcophagus featuring four lions heads at the upper end of one of Kas`s narrow shopping streets.
Despite its peaceful landscape, and its tranquility, there are still activities for the more adventurous. Choose from scuba diving, horseback riding, trekking etc. If you like hiking you can trek up the mountain to see the Lycian rock tombs which overlook the city. You can see the Greek island of Kastellorizo (Meis in Turkish) from Kas.
In order to start your journey in Kas smoothly, an airport shuttle to and from the yacht charter base can be arranged on your request.
